: Ten security personnel killed in clashes between Karachi police and Pakistani army
A clash broke out between Karachi-based Sindh police and Pakistani army personnel, local security officials said. The clash took place when army personnel arrested Sindh Police Officer Mohammad Aftab Anbar.
Five army personnel were killed in the double shooting.
The incident took place in the wake of nationwide protests led by the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM). The PDM has been staging nationwide protests demanding the ouster of Prime Minister Imran Khan's government. Thousands took part in the rally in Karachi.
Police have arrested Safdar Awan, leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), who was participating in the rally. PML-N spokesperson Maryam Nawaz and former Sindh governor Muhammad Zubair have accused Sindh police chief Mustaq Mehr of being abducted by the army.

स्थानीय सुरक्षा अधिकारियों ने कहा कि कराची स्थित सिंध पुलिस और पाकिस्तानी सेना के जवानों के बीच झड़प हुई। झड़प तब हुई जब सेना के जवानों ने सिंध पुलिस अधिकारी मोहम्मद आफताब अनबर को गिरफ्तार किया।
दोहरी शूटिंग में सेना के पांच जवान मारे गए।
यह घटना पाकिस्तान डेमोक्रेटिक मूवमेंट (पीडीएम) के नेतृत्व में देशव्यापी विरोध प्रदर्शन के मद्देनजर हुई। प्रधानमंत्री इमरान खान की सरकार को हटाने की मांग को लेकर पीडीएम देशव्यापी विरोध प्रदर्शन कर रहा है। कराची में हजारों लोगों ने रैली में हिस्सा लिया।
पुलिस ने पाकिस्तान मुस्लिम लीग-नवाज (पीएमएल-एन) के नेता सफदर एवान को गिरफ्तार किया है, जो रैली में भाग ले रहा था। पीएमएल-एन के प्रवक्ता मरयम नवाज और सिंध के पूर्व गवर्नर मुहम्मद जुबैर ने सिंध के पुलिस प्रमुख मुस्ताक मेहर पर सेना का अपहरण करने का आरोप लगाया है।
